Sabha — Privacy Policy
Sabha does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app is built without the Android internet permission, so it is technically incapable of sending anything anywhere — to us or to anyone else. Even the fonts it uses are bundled inside the app rather than downloaded.
What the app is
Sabha is a Catholic devotional app for Bible reading, prayers, the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours, novenas, chaplets, litanies, a hymnal, and the liturgical calendar. All of its content is bundled with the app and works entirely offline. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Sabha is written to your phone's own private storage and never leaves it:
- Favourites, highlights and notes on Bible verses.
- Reading plan and novena progress, and your prayer streak.
- Prayer intentions — anything written in the Intentions journal is stored only in the app's private local database. It is never transmitted, and no one but you can read it.
- Settings, including theme, text size and reminder times.
- Reminders — daily prayer and Angelus notifications are scheduled by your device's own operating system. There is no server sending you anything.
Backups you create yourself
Sabha can export your favourites, highlights, notes, intentions and progress to a backup file. That file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to send it — your own cloud drive, or an email to yourself. We never upload it, never receive a copy, and have no access to it. Restoring simply reads a file you select.
Please note that a backup file contains your own notes and prayer intentions in readable form, so treat it as you would any other private document.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or any other personal information.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software of any kind.
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not share or sell data to anyone, because no data ever leaves your device.
Permissions
On Android 13 and above, Sabha may ask permission to show notifications, so that reminders you have set can appear. This is used only to display local reminders on your own device. The app does not request internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts or storage permissions.
Children's privacy
Sabha does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.
Deleting your data
Favourites, notes and intentions can be deleted individually inside the app. Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling it, removes everything. As nothing is held on a server, there is no data for you to request deletion of.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Sabha adds an optional online feature — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be reflected in the app's store listing.
